So what about the most important feature of the game - the sims themselves? Surely they deserve some attention too? I honestly thought, when the game first came out and I realized that there was not going to be a color wheel, that EA would extend the range of hair colors as time went on. Luckily, The Sims 3 modding community has taken it upon itself to straight up re-texture, re-color, and re-mesh base game haircuts. To me, this has really extended the life and usefulness of those objects and just goes to show how much difference something as simple as a few extra color options can make. Modders love to change stuff up for the better. I was so impressed when EA added new color swatches to some of the base game furniture and lights with Vampires (or maybe it was the February patch), especially since the new color combinations are more subtle - and 'grown-up' - than many of the originals. I'm not asking for much - a couple of ordinary browns (medium brown and light brown, without any red in) a true white, instead of that silvery color that has to pass for white and maybe a couple of hairs with streaks in (I would love a black hair with a white streak or two). Please, please can we have a few more hair colors for our sims? The existing range is so horribly limited and limiting.
