In this roguelike, top-down, twin stick shooter with RPG elements, you must collect resources, fight zombies, and navigate through a gauntlet of random events that range from funny to fatal.
Brought to us by Rocket Cat Games and Madgarden, you hop in a car by yourself, with a computer partner, or a friend and take a challenging and comical road trip across the United States. A welcome change from the expected tropes, it takes the tired bleakness of the zombie apocalypse and makes you laugh at it. Thankfully, Death Road to Canada offers a fresh alternative. Dark themes, gritty environments and dramatic stories are great, but when they permeate an entire genre where the only variance is whether or not the zombies shamble or sprint, they’ve become tired.
Zombie games have certainly earned themselves a reputation.
